FLOODS IN QUEENSLAND.
BnisnANK,April 9. A telegram from Port Douglas slates tint very severe Hoods have been experienced in the Daintreo district. During Friday night, the liver rose eight feet higher than ever known to before.
A cottage containing Mrs Reynolds, Gertie Reynolds and Leslie Fisher was swept away down the river and smashed to pieces, all three occupants being drowned.
A man named Mastcrton with his wife and family wont down the river on top of a house. One of the hoys was killed, Masterlon had a leg broken, while his wife and baby look refuge up it tree when the bouse collapsed and were there twenty-four hours before they could bo rescued. A 'man named King and a black gin also perished in the Hood. Most of the settlers on the river hank lost their houses and provisions.
