THE MIDLAND RAILWAY ARBITRATION.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
Wem.i.wto.v, Tuesday
The delay in the appointment of an umpire, is caused by rhe refusal of the Midland Railway arbitrators to appoint anyone of less rank than their own. There is also an objection to faking a Judge, because the
[ ease may come before the Supreme I Court on law points, It is evident that there will be some delay beforo the Court gets to work. This means considerable expense, for everyone was ready yesterday, but the arbitrators themselves. It is not at all likely the arbitration will he final, for both parties have the right of going to Court on points of law, and it is well understood that whoever gains the verdict, the Privy Council is certain to have tiro final decision.
