(From Our Own Correspondent), j , Friday. I Last evening a well-attened meeting was held to arrange for aballin aid of the Town Hall Piano Fund. The following ladies and gentlemen were present—Mesdamos D. H. Robertson, Toogood, .las Smith, W. Benton, Unwin, W. Hodder, Misses Toogood, Cox, McShane, 'White, Dudley, Donald, Riddick, Hall, Porritt, Donald, and King, and Messrs Jas. Donald, J. G. Cox, W. Benton, C. Cundy, W. Hodder, junr., W. Toogood, J. W. Card, J. Robertson, W,B.Tait,T. Worsley, J. Porrit, J, Crawford, Joe Tiddswill junr., C. Bish, F. W. Good, E. Riddick, J, Ferguson, H. J. Unwin,F. Bladen, E. Toogood, G. Reynolds, G. Toogood, G. Barclay, P Penny, Williamson, Allen (2) W. Bock, D. H. Robertson, A. H. Knowles, a friend, and C. Kent-Johnßton, It was resolved to hold a ball on April, 25tb, management, decorating and catering committees were formed, with the same members as last time, and all present with power to add, The tickets wore fixed at gentlomen ss, ladies 2s 6d and the gallery is to be only for purchasers of those tickets. Messrs W, Bock and 0. KentJohnston were appointed Secretaries and D. H. Robertson, Treasurer. A few days ago a some what novel sight was witnessed when, several] cows and a stag were driven through here en route to Mr Matthew's, The stag in question, which is very tame, came from Mr W. Martin's, at Hungaroa,
