Thomas was fairly well attended last night, and the items were well rendered. A monster concert preceded by a torchlight procession will be given shortly in aid of the fire engine fund. A half-holiday is observed here to-day in honor of a visit from the Minister of Lands. Sore throats and colds are very prevalent in this district just now. The weather has been very cold lately. The first white frost of the season, appeared here this morning, The quarterly meeting of the Greytown Wesleyan Church, whb held in the Belvedere Churoh, yesterday. Amongst other matters dealt with, tho following resolution was passod:—" This meeting ex- ■ presses its gratitude to Messrs Burton and Pybus, for the valuable assistance they have from time to time rendered, in supplying the mMfilpits in this circuit. Their VflPmces have been much appreciated, and they carry with them, to thoir new spheres of labour, the good withes of office bearers and congregations."
