WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
Tlxe monthly meeting of the Land Board was hold on Thursday. There wore present—Messrs J. H. Baker (Commissioner), W. A. Fitzherbert, T. W. Fisher, A. W. Hogg, and P. Pirani, M.H.R, Approval was given to the following applications for titles John and Howe, section 140, block 14, Siangaone; P. Lawson, section 10, block 10, ditto ; K. Nillson, section
46, block 11, ditto; J. R, Wright, section 22, block 9, Mangahao; W. Philp, section 549, blockß, Waiohiue; C. B. Swainson, section 4, block 5, Apiti; N. Holland, section 9, block 2, Pohangina; W. C. O'Reilly, section 5, block 2, Omahine; 11. 0. Clark, section 14, Maugatainoka Village Settlement; H. Lamb, section 2, AlfredtonVillageSettlement. It was decided to approve the following applications for titles, if the conditions are complied with : - L. P. Halberg, section 52, Hastwell Village Settlement; R, 0. Madseu, section 54, ditto; R. Gregg, section 27, block 15, Mangahao ; R. Dawson, section 17, block 2, Kopuaranga. The following transfers were approyed :—Mrs J. Troy to J. Stewart, sections 270,271, and 272, Huntcrville; Johnston and Rowo to C. Rowe, section 140, block 14, Mangaone.
The Board grouted the following applications to surrender in small farm associationsE. J. Bell, section 10, block 8, Pahiatua No. 1; Y. Foutry, section 10, block 3, Pahiatua N0..3 jR. D. Henry, section 26, block 5, Woodville No. 2; T. W. Barnes, section 4, block 4, Tararua. Capitalisations approved—H, A. Ruscoe, sections 33 and 34, block 3, Apiti; J. T. Priest, section 11, block! 5, Makuri; C. Faukausen, section 24, block 4, Apiti, It was decided to ask the ranger to report on the application of J. Vile, to purchase Section 79, Block VI, Mangahao, as the residence conditions prescribed, had not been complied with. Mr Whitcombe, chairman of the Pahiatua County Council, waited on the Board in reference to the thirds due to his Council. After some timo bad been spent in explanation, the matter was relegated to the Committee to complete, It was decided io get the ranger to report upon A. o'M.ara's application to transfer section 1, Block 1., Mangahao, Hall Association, to J. H, Escott.
E. McDonald's application to surrender the license of Section 13, Block 1., Puketoi, and receive:! lease in perpetuity, was agreed to. It was decided to grant the use of Section 4, Block XIV., Mangaone, for a play-ground for the Mangamalioo school children until otherwise required. It was decided not to enforce the royalty on sap timber for Section 84, Block Vll., Mangahao, used for the Mangaliao Bridge, L. Simmons' application for Section 29, Block XII., Makuvi, was approved. W. H. Cook was granted 12 months' extension to complete improvements on Section '29, Block XII, Makrri, and two months' to make his payments.
It was decided to ask the ranger to report on Section 9, Block XIV., and la, Block XL, McKenzic Special Settlement, owned by G. J. Scholield and L, Fanelly. A number of applications for land were approved. It was decided to got an explanation from Messrs Wakelin in reference to the deficiency of improvements on Blocks XIV, and X., Mangaone. Deferred thirds were passed for payment, Pahiatua County Council, Upper Taueru Road Board.
