TRAVELLERS BEWARE.

[TO TIIK EDITOK.]

Sin,—My notice which appears in your paper, may appear to some of your readers as my being rather disobliging. In explanation I may state that some people travelling to and from Alfredton to Masterton, have not the common courtesy to ask permission to go thoough my property, but take it upon themselves not only to go through, but to borrow a hammer from a neighbour and actually take down the wires of my road fence to get their hirse through, after being previously shown the way, and told that there is a gate by way of entrance. Another annoyance is, tobeawakened at twelve o'clock at night and asked if I would direct this night traveller through my paddocks on to Barton's Line road. Now, Sir, after receiving such treatment as mentioned above, I think it high time that I protected myself from such annoyance, and I hope the notice which appears elsewhere will have the desired effect. Thanking you in anticipation.—l am, etc., Henry Benton, Alfredton.
