WE HALF-HOLIDAY.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association,) Auckland, Friday.
The question of Auckland not being able to change the half-holi-day from Saturday to Wednesday, cropped up in tho City Council, last night, when it was moved, that if the Mayor proclaimed every Wednesday as a public holiday, it would get over the difficulty, as then there was no necessity to have a record halfholiday. A warm discussion ensued, but the motion was carried by 10 to 8.
