Jeffries, Sufficient entries not being received' for throwing cricket hall and the one mile walk, these events have been stru'ek off. The abo\ v e list will be increased by late entries received on Saturday night and this 1 forenoon, from Wellington and Pa/merston North which will appear to-n)OiTow. The Committeu have extended the time of closing entries for Bicycle Races till 12 o'clock to-morrow. Besides the local entries, Hunt and Herbert, of Wellington, Jlowlom • Bpid Andrews, of Palmerston North Kind Jacobi, of Napier, are amongst the competitors, and promise is given of some excellent cycling entries. The entries on the ivhole are the largest yet received by the Club, and an excellent day's sport (particularly among the local peds) is an- , ticipated. The Secretary,Mr W. Jeffries, will receive late nominations up till this evening, and for cycling events till Jioou to-morrow, the handicaps ap. jpearing sbput Thursday or Friday next.
