FEATHERSTON NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Friday. We lmvcsomo contemptible thief in our midst who makes nightly depredations, his latest freak being to steal four ducks from Mr Gilpin's on Wednesday night, when be knew that Gilpin was away in Wellington. The court house is nearly finished and looks very well; but the workmen are not at all satisfied with some of the arrangements. Another thing it was agreed at first that the men on the ground should make the window sashes and doors etc; but these were given out of the township. Everyone is complaining about the scarcity of water and feed, the grass is all scorched up, and where people can they are putting in green oats for winter food.
