(From Our Own Correspondent). Monday. The new valuation roll of tlic ; Wairarapa South County Council as 1 prepared by Mr J. Moncrieft' junr., 1 shows an increase of £134,720 on , i ttflkof 1892. The total rateable : va* of all properties in the South | County, exclusive of boroughs is j £1,858,513 as against £1,723,793 in 1892. The increase is due to the sale j of Crown Lands and to the inclusion i Native lands leased to Europeans. ; In response to the circular from > 'the Crown Lands Departmentasking i'.-eplies to a schedule of question in relation to the proposed Fair Eents Hill, the County Council lias passed tiie following resolution. " There is niithing in tho relations between landlords and tenants to call for Government interference and this council regrets the Government has thought fit to nioye in that direction."
