FIRE IN THE BUSH.

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY. Large fires are raging in many parts of the Forty-mile Bush, and settlers between Hastwell's and Dreyerton, have been having a very anxious time lately, for between these two points the country-side was literally in a blaze all yesterday. Settlers' residences in several places are in danger, but as far as we can learn the damage done is restricted to fencing, stock, and firewood. At Jlanriceville, the Railway Bridge was several times in danger, and Ilr Rossiter's houso caught lire, but both were saved Settlers were kept busy all day, and up till a late hour last night, when it little rain fell. Jlr D. M. Brooks had about 100 cords of firewood destroyed. No further particulars aro yet to hand, but if the present high wind continues, the position of many will be very serious.
