THE RIFLE MEETING.
LATEST ARRANGEMENTS. (By Telegraph.—Pi-ess Association) Wellington, Friday. The Government has expressed to Major Sonierville, its desire that he should have solo charge of the forthcoming Rifle Association camp at < Trentham, and does not intend to appoint an officer to take command as has been done in previous years. Lieut. J. C, Hume, of the Permanent Artillery will be on the ground as the Government testing officer, in case any ammunition goes wrong.
The range is in very good order 4 and all arrangements are proceeding satisfactorily. The will be on the ground and two operatives will be employed. Major Sonierville says it is rather cold at Trentham just now and advises competitors to bring an extra supply of bed clothes
