News has been received' of tho deatli at Ooolgardie of Ernest Scully, latterly of the Customs Department. He was well-known in athletic circles at Auckland, Cliristchurch, and Nelson, where he had beenstationed. He was a sou of the late Major Scully, and was mentioned for conspicuous bravery at the wreck of the steamer fiodondo, on his voyage to Western Australia some months ago
