MASTERTON LICENSING COM MITTEE.
QUARTERLY MEETING.
Tho quarterly meeting of the Masterton Licensing Committee, was held to-day, at noon. Present— Messrs T. Hutchison, S.M, (Cluiirman), A, Stewart, J. Hessey, T, E. Chamberlain, C. E. Daniell, and P, Bright. The police reports were road, and were favourable, with the exception of that from Grnssendale, in which a complaint was made by thelnspector, that the licensee, Mr Burling, was frequently absent from his licensed premises. Mr Pownnll Stated that ho had instructions to get the license transferred to the eldest son, who would be always on the premises. Tho present licensee was engaged in contracts iu order to add to his income, Mrs Burling and family practically carrying on tho hotel business. He would prepare the papers for transfer as soon as possible. '
After consideration it was resolved that ConstabloCollerton.be instructed to make enquiries and take proceedings if necessary. JIAKAKAIII HOTEL.
Mr Bunny who appeared for the Doputy Official Assignee, stated that this Hotel had been sold yesterday, and as there was not time to make the necessary applications for transfer, be asked that an adjournment he granted to allow the proper application to be made.
It was resolved that the Committee at its rising adjourn for a mouth, to consider this application. TIIAXSKKHS. Star Hotel, Jlastcrton.—Application for permanent transfer from Mrs Low to W. Redmond.—Granted. Permission was granted to change the liaine of the Star Hotel, to the Quecu's Hotel, Empire Hotel, Pahiatua.—Application for permanent transfer from Mrs Beck to Joseph Kenny.— Granted. The Committee adjourned till Saturday, 30th March, at 10 a.m.
