WELLLINGTON LAND BOARD.

In addition to that reported yesterday tho following business was transacted at yesterday's meeting of the Land Board : The Board agreed to tho transfer of section 27, Block IV., Maiigaono, from T. Hodgins to M. J. Hodgins, as trustee, The transfer of Section 52, Block VIII., Mangaliao, from E, Parker to James M. and Helen D. Boscoo, was granted, the latter being exempted from residence as long as her brother resides.

Messrs Skerrctt and Gray addressed the Board in reference to the forfeiture of Mrs Slinrnmn's interest interest in Section 13, Block XIII., Makuri, and on a division, it was decided to adhere to the original decision, the Commissioner and Messrs Hogg and Pishor voting for and Messrs PitzlicrboitandPirani against.

I The transfer of Section 3, Block 11., Mangaliao, from E. G. Thorne to J. Wiggins, was agreed to.

The Commissioner was instructed to have the surrendered sections in special settlements offered for sale as soon as possible Tho following applications to convert village sections to lease in perpetuity were granted :-W. Higgius, Makuri: and C. T. Kohkc, L. Grant, W. C. Daldy, J. Sloan and l'\ Helps, Mangaliao.

It was decided not to forfeit Section 1, Block XIV., Mangaliao, for non-signing of lease at present.

The Commissioner was authorised to withdraw four sections in tho township of Taihape from sale until they can be loaded with the value of improvements.

John Savage, section 19, Block XII., Pnketoi, applied for a remission ofono year's rent owing to noncompletion of survey, but the Board had no power to grant the request. The same decision was arrived at with regard to'section 7, Blocks VII, and XL, Makuri; owner, G, T, Wilson.

Tlid Boaid refused lo sanction the transfer of Section 25, Block IV., TiU'iii'iia, from M. Smith to ('. F. Nelson, but offered to accept a surrender and weight (lie section with improvements, provided the felled area is grassed this season, The Board then adjourned till this morning.

Mr Hogg held that there was no connection between the cases. He ,regretted thattheßoard haying after an exhaustive enquiry arrived unanimously at a decision, should now he divided. As a result of the re- | hearing, certain members had changed their opinion. He would gladly take the same course if he could see any grounds for doing so. He was not prepared to say that Mrs Sharmau did not apply for the section ingood fai(h,hc would be Sony to' designate either Mrs Sharmau or her husband as dummies. The Board decided to adhere to their decision.
