The two " B's " are a dandy pair of jumpers and would fake beating in any company. Auckland is regarded as a "Monte" for the banner, with Canterbury a good second. Quarter-milellurdles—Roberts, 1; Martin, 2 ;F. H. Harloy,3. Won easily. A protest was entered against the first and second, on the ground of not jumping the hurdles. The result was, that Roberts and Martin were disqualified; Frank Havlcy, of Wellington, being declared the winner, with Moir, Cliristclmrch, 2nd, and F. Harley, Christchiirch, 3. Throwing the Hammer—Louisson, Cliristclmrch, 75ft 7in, 1. Auckland won the banner, with 32 points; Canterbury, 24; Wanganui, 22; Wellington, 21; llawke's Bay, 17; Otago, 10; Manawatu, 6.
