From Our Own Correspondent). Friday. Mr Knott drew a fair audience at the Forester's Hall lust night to hem his lecture on " Ten nights in a barroom," and lime-light views. Mr Knott, after visiting the small settlements intends giving a similar lecture in your town. The funeral of the late Mr Thomas Moffatttook place last Wednesday afternoon when a large number of friends and relatives followed the remains to their lust resting place, Tho Rev. J. Hewson, conducted the funeral service in the Church and at the grave. The picnic to be held to-day in connection with the State School promises (o be a great success. Already there are several athletes in training for the forthcoming Fire Uiigade sports to be held hero next month. The funeral of the deceased native Hawea passed thiough here this morning m mile for Gladstone, where the body will be interred.
