TAUERU NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Taueru had quite an awakouing in church matters, last week, when the Rev. A. C. Yorke preached on Sunday evening, and spent Monday morning and part of the afternoon, visiting among members of his church. In the afternoon he held a Baptism service in the Hall, when he had eight babies to christen. So it would seem the Taueru is doing very well in regard to new population, There have been quito records in the way of attendance at the two evening services held, so it would seem that evening is the more suitable time for residents, and we now quite look forward to these services. Mr Roes, well-known in your town in musical matters, has undertaken to look after the singing, so things tire looking brighter in a religious way, altogether. The monthly meeting of the School Committee, was held last Tuesday, when it was decided to hold the picnic and prize distribution, directly after the annual examination, which takes place towards the end of March. It was decidad to support the retiring inotubers, Messrs Blair, Bradcy, and Newmau, for seats on the Board.
