THOSE BUTCHERS!

[to the editor.] Sir.—The letter from Mr Hughes in yesterday's Times faily took my breath away. Here have I been paying 3ld and 4d a lb for beef, when tho man who ought to know says his price is 2id! What check have propiietors upon their butcherboys ! 1 now find tbat 1 would only have been charged the same—or even less—had I booked everything. You are certainly to be thanked for bringing tho matter up, and that reply from Mr Hughes clearly shows how the public have been treated.— I am, etc., Housewife.
