Allowing for food and seed requirements of the current year, there will be loft a surplus for export of about 116,000 tons as compared with lost year's output. Hobaiit, February 8. The Mining Conference has adopted a resolution in favour of a minimum wage, being legalised. The rates proposed aro 7s for surface and 8s for underground work per day. Tho Conference also recommends that holders of miners' rights shall be granted tho franchise, Mr Wragge, of Brisbane, predicts a repetition of tho gales, and warns the shipping.
