MASTERTON RAM FAIR.
FIRST DAY,
The Masterton Ram Pair opened at Messrs Lowes and lorn's yards, Ronall Street, this morning. The attendance of buyers was good, but the spirited competition of former ■a years was absent, a number of high class sheep being passed in, not having reached owners' reserves. No doubt this is to be accounted for in the low rates ruling for sheep of all classes and the uncertainty of the wool market, Up to tho time of our j going to press the best prices obtained were for a line of fine Lincoln rams bred by Mr D. McMaster, and sold by Messrs Lowes and lorns at from 2j to 6 guineas. A fino six tooth stud Lincoln ram was sold by Messrs Simms and Mowlem, on account of Mi McKeuzie for 5j guineas.
