(From Our Own Correspondent), Friday. Tho timber for the new Courthouse is fast coming down now, and the site was marked out by Mr Wilson, the Government Engineer, this morning. When Mr Seddon cbpse tho site, he gave those preient to understand that there would be a. right of way through from Pox St. to Fitaherbert St., butMrWihson has received no instruction as to this, which would be a great boon' when tho building is in nse, I am glad to say that at last our local bakers have seen fit to reduce tho price of bread, and they are now charging 6d for the 41b loaf forcash. This reduction haß only been made at the eleventh hour when it was understood that a new baker was. coming to start opposition. Just 'as Mr Willacy was starting with his milk for the factory, yesterday, his horse bolted, and eventually there was a general smash up, milk flying in all directions. The annual meeting of Delegates to tho Oddfellows' District Meeting, j§ fo be hold here on tho 14th inst,, and I 'tho Delegate? are to bo entertaiiiedinthe evening! with a dinner, at which both Messrs Hogg aud Buohanao have promised to be present, "
