CRICKET.
The match between the W.F.C.A, and Excelsiors, played on the Oval yesterday, was won by the former by 32 runs on the first inning. The Excelsiors went in first, and were disposed of 44 runs, the highest scorer being 11. Wrigley, who played a fine innings for twenty. The Farmers responded with 70, T. Hawke going in first wicket down and carrying his bat outfor4oruns.None of the others made much of a stand, Redmond and Kershaw going out with nine and seven respectively. The Excelsiors were again sent in, making a really splendid stand, 82 being the total for six wickets, when stumps were drawn, llagge (29), Harland (17), ami H. Wrigley (14) not out, gave the fielders plenty of fun, and treated the onlookers to an excellent display of batsmansliip.Tlic principal bowlers for the Farmers were Hawke and L, Richards, and for the Excelsiors H. Wrigley and Mason.
