(Received January 30,10.20 a.m.) Shaxghai, January 29. The Chinese claim that on two occasions during the last fow days, they repulsed tho attacks of the Japanese on Wcihaiwei, one of the attacks being made by land and the other by sea. The Japnneso wished to attack Cliefoo by sen, but the foreign warships prevented tho proposal being carried into effect.
(Received January 23, 7 30 p.m.) Shanghai, January 28. The investment of Wcihai'wai by the Japanese will bo completed this week.
