[ United Press Association.] (By EhcMe Telegntph.-CopyrigM). THE NEW SOUTH WALES COLLIERY DISPUTE. (Received January 26th, 11.30 a.m.) «Svdxev, January 20. The management of tho Wallsend Colliery, has decided to make a slight increase in the yardage rates. At a meeting of miners, a vote was takon in favour of accepting the proposal by a majority of one. The decision was greeted with cheers nnd counter cheers, and general confusion. A ballot was demanded, which will be taken.

Mr Curloy, General Secrotary, in reply to an interjection, said there wero bigger tyrants in their own class than amongst the proprietors themselves. With regard to the present situation of the Wallsend miners, if the District gave him full latitude at the present time, he would have no hesitation in telling them what to do as a man, but as District Officer ho could not advise «hcm to act against their rulers, 'here were three thousand financial members in the Association, and if they stood together they could ac-

complish a great deal. He believed the time was not far distant when «nionists and non-unionists would ave to stand shoulder to shoulder to extricate the district from i's present terrible position.
