[United Press Associativa.'] (By Electric Telegraph,—Copyright.) m, casimEperier, HE RESIGNS THE PRESIDENCY OF FRANCE, (Received January 10,8.15 p.m.) Paris, January 15, M. Casimir-Pcrier, President of the French Republic, has resigned. (Recoived January IV, 0.50 a.iu.) Paris, January lfi, M. Casimir-Perior's resignation of the Presidency came unexpectedly, and created greatpolitical perplexity and dismay. At. Casiuiir-Perier's message to the Chamber of Deputies on the subject declares that he regards tho vote of the Chamber, in censuring the Ministry on the ground that they failed to protect the State against the aggression of the railway companies, as a secondary incident; but, he says,a struggle has begun against the Parliamentary regime and the public liberties, and he had hoped the President would have been exempted from attack, or, on the other hand, defended.
It is belioved that the rati ring President will bo re-elected by a large majority, The names of M. Brisson, President of the Chamber, and M. Cltallomel Lacourare mentioned as possible candidates for tlie office.
