(Received, January 14th, 1135 a.m) Sydney, Jan 14. Balloting in connection with the proposed strike of miners at Newcastle has been completed. Tho figures show that 1874 men voted in favor of a strike being declared and 121o' against the strike. As the requisite two-thirds majority was not obtained there will be ns general strike.
The difficulty at Helton colliery has been settled and the threatened strike avoided.
