FEATHERSTON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent). Monday, Mr Jits. Donald has had built and . fitted up iu his dairy factory, a churn, which is worked by steam. The churn, which has been made out of 4ft Bin by Sin kauri planks, and churns 6001bs of butter in one churning, is giving groat satisfaction, Mr J. Robertson was the builder, and the iron work was made by Co, of Wellington, fB&F % Our streets have a very ill-rapt look about them just now, all tho waterways being filled with all sorts of dobris. If tho Board cannot afford to keep tbem clean, one would think that tho storekeepers would keep that part in front of their stores in decent order. i Now would be a good timo for our Courthouse to bo started, as there are about five carpenters out of work at the present time. But alas! we have heard 110 more about the supply of timber oven. The drought continues to be felt more and more, as tho wolls con- p tinue to give out day by day, and yet there is not another town so favourably situated for obtaining a water supply.
