MASTERTON FIRE BRIGADES.
Torchlight Procession Tho annual torchlight procession of tho Masterton Fire Brigades took place on New Year's Eve, aud was witnessed by a very large number of people. The Municipal engines nml the Volunteer manual were all most elaborately decorated with evergreens, aud the troublo taken in getting up the whole thing is certainly an evidence of the men's interest in their Brigades. Tho local Druids, in regalia, took place in the procession and both bands were in attendance, and also the funny element in the form of a " Darktown Brigade," whose antics were very amusing. Fireworks wore let off and colored fire on the lino of march, everything passing off without mishap.
