CRICKET.

Carterton ut. Excelsiors.

The return match between the above teams, played on the Oval yesterday, resulted in a win for our boys by 28 runs. Carterton went in first, and were easily disposed of until two substitutes, Jackson and Warner, got in together, and between them they totted up 31 runs, making in all the very respectable total of 71. The Excelsiora went at it with a will, and the caroful cricket shown by Harland, and the grand slogging; propensities of Ktzsimmons overhauled their opponents in a very short space of time, and scored a win for their team as below. Not less than eight of the Excelsiora were caught out, and mulls were as a rale conspicuously absent.
