Monthly Meeting.

Tho regular monthly mooting of tho Masterton School Committee was held last evening. Present: Messrs E. Feist (Ohairman),Daniell, Ea-sthopc, Dixon, Beard, Pi'flgnoll, and Hoar. MIKUTKS. : Tho minutes of the previous meeting were read andconfirmed. TREASURER'S REPORT, The Treasurer reported acredifcat date & 1019s 9d. IMPORTS..' The Head Teacher reported tno average attendance for tha month to be 489 with 577 scholars on the roll, The attendance has been good but is. beginning to break a little in anticipation of the Christmas holidays. Miss Keeling reported an average l attendance of 90 at the Infants' School during-the month, with 108 on the rail.

Tho Chairman said 'he was perfectly satisfiedwith the' report and I Head Teacher's explanation that he. was merely maintaining discipline.. It was needless to occupy the Committee's time with the matter; Mr Beard said he thought thajj if notice was taken of every Utilepai-aX. graph, the Committee would have nothing else to do hutreceive reports on such matters..

Tho Chairman and Messrs East, hope and Praguell expressed tl\e opinion that no notice should'be taken' hy : the Master or Committee of matters of tbiß kind, ■'

SCHOLARSHIP. It, was resolved to apply to the Town Lands Trustees.; for the usual grant m aid of tho, scholarshipi won by Alexandra Brown.
