At the conclusion of the business at the Meeting of the TaratahiCarterton Racing Club on Saturday afternoon, most of those present being also momborß of the Wairarapa Hunt Club, Mr G. Tully (Master) announced that ho had a pleasant task to perform—to present Mr W. McKenzie, the Hon, Secretary of tho Club with an address and a purse of sovereigns. • He then read the address as follows:' WAIRARAPA HUNT CLUB. Wm, McKimb, Esq., Oahtkbtox.' Dbak Sir.—The officers and members; of the Wairarapa Hunt Club ask you to accept tho accompanying gift as a; small recognition of your general efforts to promote the interests of flur Club during' yqimterni of office as Honorary .becretary, also to express in some tangible form tho high esteem in which you are held by members of the Club. We feel that '. the principal success of the past seasons has been mainly due to the time and trouble you have taken to help v us (often at a great inconvenience to yourself) and to the cordial feeling feeling always gxi&ting-between you and members, Were we stronger the gift would have been larger, but we hope you will accept in the same feeling as it is tendered, .Signed on behalf,of subscribers. It was'most gratifying to lijm,u6 showing that anything he had done in tho interests of .the Club had been fully had always been his endeavour to mako things go smoothly, and he did not care how hard he had to work so long who could feel lie had the appreciation of members, and that had been fully demonstrated by the kindness shown him throughout his connection with the Club, and so long as he held the position he would use his utmost oudeavors to promote tho interests of tho Club.

The address was nicely engrossed by Mr A. J. Toogood. . Accompanying the address was twenty sovereigns in a handsomo Russian leather purse, fastened with a silver clasp on which is engraved "Presentedto Mr W. McKeuzie by thoW.H.C."
