WELLINGTON WOOL SALES

The first Wellington wool sales this season wero held on Saturday in the Loan and Mercantile Buildings, by the N.Z, Loan Go., Levin and Co., Tainc and Co,, and Laery and Co. The attendance of English buyers was small, but local buyers turned up in good numbers. The snip of good wools was very small, most of the lots being passed in, but the competition for locks, pieces, and crutchings was good, and these wero quitted at satisfactory prices. Crossbred wool ranged from to 7d per lb, pieces from 4d to sd, and locks from 2d to 3d.
