A PROWLER SHOT.
(By Telcgraph.-Press Association) CnmsTcnußCU, Saturday. About midnight on Friday, Ghas. Henry Wagstaff, canvasser for the Lyttolton Times, who resides at Papanui, found a man named Ghas, Langdon prowling about bis premisoß and attempting to get in at the servant girl's window. Wagstaff went outside, snd as Langdon was 'running, discharged a gun, Langdon receiving the charge in bis hip and baud, Wagstaff informed a doctor and the police, and Langdon was removed to the hospital. Wagßtaff was arrested aniltoougM before the Court this morning, and remanded on|bail for a week. It is not known what Langdon's motive was in going to the house, He is suffering from the shock, and has not been able to give any explanation. He also lives at Papanui, and is a married man, Wagstaff states he did not fho with the intention of bitting the man, '
