A Victorian Crisis.
Mhlboorxe, November 28, The Premier in replying to the hostile motion of MrMcKenzie, declared that the circumstances of Victoria were bo desporato that tho Hoibo must ngroo to tho proposed taxation. He explained that tho Government had used all available monies, including the trust funds. This statomont he said had been withheld from the Budget and was now only disclosed to show the present necessity of the Honseaccording its support to tho Government finanAwl proposals, SirJ.B, Patterson, PPi-Premior, condemned the action of tho Premier, in repeatedly declaring that tho Colony was on the verge of bankruptcy. Personally ho was prepared to snpport the Government, providing tho Land Tax was withdrawn. The House ia still sitting and members of the Government are confidont of a majority of at least ton.
