It has been said that certain persons should have long memories. Last evening Mr Hornblow declared that his connection with the High Pressure Water Supply Committee was merely a matter of L s. d., and that he was to bo paid for his connection with that body. Before us is a little subscription list dated Feb. 22nd, 1894, in Mr Homblow's handwriting, which was got iip to oiiable Mr Ford to canvas the ratepayers. On this list appears the following signature "R. E. Hornblow 10s." Last evening'through no doubt pardonablo woaknoss of memory, Mr Hornblow misled tho ratepayers on this question, He is pledged in honor and in blnck and white to a high pressure water supply.. On January 31st Cr Hornblow gave a notice of motion in tho Borough Council for a loan of £15,000. This motion ho subsequently withdrew at tho suggestion of Mr Pay ton, because it was thought by the advocates of the project that tho Council, as then constituted, would outvote it, Mr Hornblow. says ho withdrew it becanso he changed his opinion on tho subject, but this statement is absolutely inaccurate and misleading. Mr Hornblow counted noses and reported that, the majority wore against him, and this was the real [reason why his motion was withdrawn.
