Wairarapa Caledonian Society.
A meeting of tho Finance Committee of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society iras held on Saturday last at 2 p,m,, Mr D, Guild in the chair. The Programme Committee met at 2.30 p.m., when the programme for the forthcoming spoils was prepared, It was decided to alter the one mile bicycle race from being for amateurs to an all comers bicycle raco.
The stone and basket race was struck out and a sword dance inserted.
The one man sawing competition was struck out and two men maiden pawing competition inserted, ' It was decided to have a bashfelling contest with upright logs six {eflijugh, first prize £5, second £2, th™£li entranco fee ss, MAJIcLeod undertook to arplacing the logs in position.
Tho programme was adopted at a mooting of Directors hold at 8,30 p.m. ■ Tho Directors unanimously confirmed the voting of $lO to tho fund for erecting a grand stand in the park, Eight now members were admitted, and a vote of thanks to tho Chairman terminated the proceedings. ________
