FIRE AT CHRISTCHURCH.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association) Christcuubcii, Saturday, Messrs Fletcher, Humphreys and Co.'s wholesale wine and spirit merchant's store, in Chancery Lane, was almost destroyed by fire lato last night. The building was cxtensivoly stocked with wines and spirits, tea and general merchandise. The firo originated in the top flat, and, it is supposed, from a coffee roaster. The two top storeys were gutted, and fire spread to the roof, and a three storey bond at the back, twostoroysof which containedtea,and merchandise. This was also quitted, The fire did not reach the spirits stored in the lower floor and collar, Tho papers of the firm wore saved. The stock was a largo and valuable one, worth' about £70,000.
