AuckliAxo, Monday, At tho Wairarapa enquiry, James Pipe, saloon passenger, said he spoke to tho Captain frequently on Sunday, and he was quite sober. When on the rocks tho chief officer seemed to show an utter indifference to anything going on, the passengers seemed to do all tho work, Did not notice what the second officer did.

F, W. Varley said he heard no order given except by ono of the stewards,about putting on life belts. He spoko highly of Mr Dunlop's behaviour. He did not think | more could havo been done by the officers after the rocks were reached, but on board they appeared to do very little.
