Mr F. H. Wood reports of the stock sale held by him at his Tariitaln yards yesterday, as follows; rStock yarded were of good quality and considerably in excess of advertised entries. The attendance of buyers was not as large as usual, probably owing to shearing opera-t-imis, and also the near approach' of | the Carterton Show. The bidding wns lacking in spirit, hut nearly everything yarded found buyers either under the hammer or privately afterwards, at the following prices, viz, Sheep: Hoggets, in the wool, Ss Gd; do shorn, 7s to 7s Gd;'fat ewes, 8s lOd to. 9s Gd. Cattle: Calves, 255; yearlings, 30s to 34s j 18-months-oldsteers,4os to 42s Gd; 2-year-old do, 46s to GOs; heifers, 40s to 50s; springing keifere, 80s to 103s; dairy cows, 80s to 130s; fat bullocks wero passed in at £B.
