A correspondent at Leavenworth, Kansas, says: Mr Murphy,the governor of the gaol there, who was dismissed from his position recently in consequence o£ irregularities having been discovered in the management of the institution, and with a set of keys whieh he had re: tained in his possession, he opened the doors of the gaol and liberated the whole of the prisoners. Most of the men escaped, but Mr Murphy himself was arrested by the police and lodged in gaol.
