The Railway Commissioners seem to be disposed to buck tho very modest request that Ims como from this district for ti slightly improved through traffic. While admitting that the question is under consideration, they seem anxious to place obstacles in the way of meeting it. The time lias arrived to show that tin's district is in earnest in its demand, and that it is not to be put off from it by polite. evasion. It will, perhaps, be desirable now to sign requisitions in this district expressing tho local sentiment a little more strongly. The district manager must know that the demands from the Wairarapa are essentially just and moderate, and that in the past we have put up with more rough travelling than any community in the colony, but tho Commissioners appear to think that anything is good onajgh for this district, It will be our mission to convince the Government and the Commissioners that au improved service is necessary for their credit and for our own comfort.
