NORTH WAIRARAPA GUN CLUB.
Annual Meeting,
Tho annual meeting of tlio Nortli Wairarapa Gun Club was held in the Club Hotol last (Friday) evoning, Mr E. M, D, Whatman (President) in tho chair. An apology was received from Mr E. H. Waddington (Secretary) stating that he was unablo to attend through illness, and that Mr W. R Bone had kindly consented to acton his behalf,
Tho Chairman regretted that Mr Waddington was unable to attend and proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Bono for his services.
Correspondence was received from tho Hawko's Bay aud Wanganui Gun Clubs expressing regret that they ponld not possibly shoot in the proposed triangular match in October, but would have pleasure in doing so at a later date.
' Mr Von Rcdcn proposed that the triungulitfumitch be fired early in April nntfrnrit the forraercowlitions bo adhered to, Seconded by Mr Campbell and carried.
The balance sheet which was then read showed a credit balance of £6 7s lid, was adopted. Mr Mackcrsey then presented his handsome marblo clock to Mr Hives for tho bestavorage shot of the sea" son.
Mr Hives thanked Mr Mnckersey for his handsome gift, and the President then called for three cheers for the winner, which were heartily responded to. Mr Meredith proposed that only ono handicapper be appointed in place of three, and that the distance bo 21 to 81 yards. Seconded by Jlr Campbell.
Mr Wardell moved as nn .amendment that the three handicappera, namely, Messrs Mackerscy.Waddington, and Bone, should still continue to handicap fortlio Club.—Seconded by Mr Cockburn-Hood. The amendment was carried. Mr Cockburn-Hood proposed that rulo No 2 (that the gun must not be hold to the shoulder until the shooter has called "Pull." The butt must be clear below the elbow, otherwise the Referee shall declare "No Bird,") bo rescinded.—Seconded by Mr Holmes, and was lost. Mr E. M. D. Whatman proposed that the rules he reprinted and that the names of the now officers be placed on samo.
Seconded by Mr von Kcden and carried.
Tho following officers were then olected; President: Mr J. J. Mackersey ; Vice-Presidents: Messrs J. 0. Walker, W. Wardell, and W. Broderick; Secretary and Treasurer: MrWaddington; Committee: Messrs J. M. Meredith, A. P. Whatman, W. R. Bone, 11. Campbell, E, M. D. Whatman, W. Wardell,,!.Hives,H. Holmes, W. Scott, and W. J. Feast,
Dr Butemcnt and Mr 11. Vile were duly elected members of the Club.
Mr Mandel kindly offered the Club a ton guinea Cup to bo competed for next season, to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals, for which he received a hoarty vote of thanks. A hearty voto of thanks to the President, Mr E. M. D. Whatman, and Mr W. R, Bone (acting Secretary) tonninatcd the meeting.
