THEATRE ROYAL.

The Mackenzie Company,

A splendid holiday bouse greeted the appearance of the Mackenzie Company in the Theatre Royal last evening, and a very pleasant time was spent by nil those present, To say that Mr Mackenzie's singing was highly appreciated, would be putting it very lightly, and we are only sorry that space docs not permit us to mention all the excellent items on the programme. His splendid voice was heard to distinct advantage in everything he sang, and such numbers as "The Baft," "Father, O'-Flynn," "Bonnie Dundee," and tho " Laird o' Cockpen," evoked the highest enthusiasm. Miss Bertha Roberts helped considerably in the success of the entertainment, and has a remarkably sweet voice. The best songs were " Killavney," " Remember me no More," and Comin' thro' the Rye," and she had to respond to numerous encores. Madamo Lockett played two selections and the accompaniments in a most talented mannor. Mr Mackenzie introduced most of the items with appropriate little stories, and the spirit with which all present joined in singing "Auld Lang Syne," at the finish, showed how the entertainment had been enjoyed,
