PARLIAMENTARY.
To-day's Sitting, (Hy Telegraph,—Press Association), Wumnoto.v, Saturday. In Committee on tho Banking Bill, a proposal by Mr Saunders that clause 2, should apply only to the Bank of New Zealand, was lost by 35 to 14, The clause was amended at theinstanceof the Colonial Treasurer, to include the paid up capital, called up capital, and reserve fund as additional security for the votes guaranteed, Clause 2, as amended, was added to the Bill by 33 to 15. Clause 3, prohibiting the amalgamation of the Bank of New Zealand, without the consent of Parliament was passed on the voices without comment, A new clause proposed by MrGeo. Hutchison,stipulatingtliat thcpublic account of the Colony should bo restricted to the Hank of New Zealand, was rejected on the voices, The Bill was then reported, and after a short debate read a third time and passed at 5,15 a.m, The House then adjourned till 2.30 p.m.
