Messrs Lowes and lorn' Stock Sale Report.

On Friday last the firm held a special sale of cattle in their Masterton yards, when over GOO head were yarded; the bidding not being so brisk as the coiresponding sale last year, but 500 head found purchasers at over vendors' reserves Fat cows brought £6 10s to £6 12s 6d; forward bullocks, £6 7s 8d; storo bullocks, £8; plain beef do, £7; 2j to 3 year steel's, 90s to 955; smaller do, 85s; 2 year steers, 68s; 2 year mixed, 52s to 555; 18 months heifers, 525; 3 year old do, well bred, 80s; dairy cows, 80s to £G ss; storo cows, GOs to 755. .

At sumo yards yesterday, we held our fortnightly sale, when threo times the quantity of stock entered camo forward, 'l'lie bidding for certain lines was dull, but with tlio exception of some old cows and one line of sheep nil found purchasers cither under the hammer or immediately after:—Fairly good fat steers brought £7; fat cows, to £6; forward empty cows, £4; store cows, 60s to 70s; young steers, 21 year to 3 year, 84s and 87s 6d; dairy cows, £5 to £5 IOs; springing heifers, 80s to 955; weaners, 80s. I'at ewes, 12s to 14s; ewes and

lambs, from 5s Gd to 8s 9d; empty ewes, 6s to Gs Gd. Pigs, about 150 yarded, sold at from 8s to 14s. Horses, very dull; no sales effected at auction, but have sold some draughts privately, from £ls to £2O, settlers preferring to do business ai our regular horse sales.
