CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
Meeting of Delegates,
A meeting of delegates from the following Clubs, namely Greytown, Carterton, Matarawa and Masterton, met at the Marquis of Normanby Hotel, Carterton last evening, Fcatherston not being represented. Mr Izard in the chair. The Secretary read the minutes of the last meeting. Correspondence was received from Messrs W. C, Buchanan, Coleman Phillips, and from Mr Price, President and Vice-Presidents, the latter forwarding a cheque for £2 2s as a donation to the Association forwliich he received a hearty vote of thanks,
Proposed by Mr Whatman seconded by Mr Bone that the Association play senior and junior clubs. Mr Eagle proposed as an amendment seconded by Mr Booth, that Handicap matches be held which was carried, It was proposed by Mr Izard that throe members of the Association form a quorum and that the majority of any mectiug form a Joint Committee. Seconded by Mr Eaglo and carried, Proposed that Mr Bono that the nominal subscription of each Club to the Assqciation be one guinea and any Club in placing a second olevon half-a-guinoa. Seconded by Mr Izard and carried.
Proposed by Mr Bone seconded by Mr Booth that the Championship Matches be decided on the first innings, proving there is not time to play the two innings out,-Carried.
It was resolved that two rounds be sullicient. Messrs llowse and McKeuzie, Secretary and Treasurer, were empowered to sign cheques. Proposed'by Mr Whatman that Messrs W. Booth, W. Judd, and \{. R. Bone form a Representative 'Selection Committee, and also $ Jfatcb Committee, and that Messrs Gallon (Matarawa), W. R. Bone (Masterton), J. Eagle (Carterton), and a delegate from Featherston to Ibo nominated by that Club to be Handicappers, and to appoint time of play, and withdrawal of stumps, and that three of the above named to forma quorum, and that they meet at Carterton 011 Thursday noxt at 7 o'clock.—Seconded by Mr Eagle and carried.
Tho Wairarapa Cricket Association Rules of 1888 were adopted with the exception of numbers 8,13, and 16, which were struck out.
It is'expected that tlio Championship Matches will start on the second week in November,
The following Clubs have joined the Association: QreytoWn, i eleyens; Fcathers'tqn, 1; Carterton, 1; Matarawa, 1, and Masferton, 2, It is also cqnsidej'ed that Eketa ; hunftj Mauriceville, Wharcama aiu} Morrison's Bush are likely to jqin.
