Mr Rawson was originally on tho Government Survey staff, retiring in 1879 to take up a private practiso on the West, Coast, About nine years ago ho ennio to Mastcrton and resided here until within a few weeks of his (loath. Tho deceased was a brother-in-law to Mr C. ]'!, Bremnor, Engineer to the Wairarapa North County Council, and has several brothers holding prominent positions in various professions, amongst them being Dr. Rawson and Mr Herbert Rawson of Wellington, and Mr T. Rawson, Engineer to tho Westport Harbour Board. The deceased, who was tho fourth son of Or, Rawson, of New Plymouth, loaves a widow but no family.
