A Chinese Storekeeper Robbed
Thopremi6esofWongYoe,Ohinese ' storekeeper of Queen Street, were burglariously entered about mid- .- night on Saturday, during the tern* porary absence of the proprietor. It ''. appeal's that entry was effected ' through a back window, and it is evident tho burglar must havo been acquainted with the place. Thetitl r ''.■■. was brokon open and the contontfrf removed, but:; fortunately the proprietor had put hie day's takings in . his pocket beforo leaving the shop, J^' : and only a littlo oyer one pound,in "' small chango remained. A wooden box was taken into the backyard and forced open, but a gold ring-was all which the* robber thought worth taking. About. lOlbs of tobacco, two boxes of cigarettes,' lot of cigars, tins of cocoa, potted meats, etc., wero removed from tho ,-'- shop, the total loss being.:estimated at Ll3. Tho polico have the matter in hand.
