JAPANESE WARE.
Messrs Lowes & lorns have on exhibition attheir Auction Mart, Queen Street, one of the most magiiificientassortments of Japanese waro we have over seen in Masterton, the goods include egg-shell tea-sets, of unique patterns, the colourings on which are burned into thesubstauce, and will therefore stand all ordinary uses without fading. The Satsuma vases, the patterns on which are formed by hammering into the metal, while heated, gold and silver wire, are well worth inspection. A large ebony screen inlaid with ivory is also very attractive, and the whole of the romaiuiiig goods, including lacquered tables, paper racks, flower stands, fire screens, table mats, bronzed figures, otc, which immediately catch the eye on entering, are really works of art, Tho auctioneers inform us that the goods will be sold to-morrow (Saturday), absolutely without reserve, at the mart, The room will be lightod up this evening till halfpast 9 o'clock for inspection, and we have no doubt that all who glance over the consignment to-day, will'be ready purchasers to-morrow, Tho sale commences at 2 o'clock,
